Adjacent Music Festival 2023

At the beginning of the summer, I made a last minute decision to attend Sunday of Adjacent Music Festival, on the beach in Atlantic City, NJ. I recently picked up a Kodak Star 275 point & shoot camera at my favorite antique store. I had yet to test this camera, so I loaded up some Fujifilm 400iso, tossed it in my bag & hoped for the best.

The afternoon started off with CANDY (@candygonnadie) playing an absolutely insane set. Seeing this style of hardcore music at 1pm on the beach was jarring, in the best way. My camera started jamming instantly, which lead to some pleasant light leaks. I’m not mad at it.

Up next, was Soul Glo (@soulglo) , who kept the aggression rolling.

After Soul Glo finished, I walked over to the main stage to see Knocked Loose. My camera continued to jam, leading me to wonder, “maybe I should have tested this camera before using it.”

Back to the side stage for Long Island’s finest Incendiary (@incendiaryhc) . NYHC alive & well.

One of my favorite parts of this day was the ability to go lay on the beach in between sets. The weather was perfect. By this time in the day, I had given up on my camera being able to shoot anything else without jamming. Will I test out a camera before taking it to a festival again in the future? Probably not. Where’s the fun in that?

Thanks for reading.
